NFL Fantasy

Here's this week's start/sit. Enjoy.

Start

QB - McNabb - Washington will approach this game trying to open their passing game early. McNabb struggled a lot against the stingy Dallas defense, but now host a Houston Texans team that allowed Peyton Manning to torch them with 433 yards passing. Manning’s weapons are better, but expect McNabb to be more then efficient Sunday racking up 2-3 touchdowns with at least 250 yards. He’ll be back on your fantasy radar after Sunday’s outing.

QB - Ryan - Be ready for a more balanced attack this week from the Atlanta offense. Turner was held in check by Pittsburgh last week, which made it tough for Ryan to air it out. At home Sunday, they’ll definitely face a lesser defense in the Arizona Cardinals, who allowed Bradford to pass for an impressive 253 yards in his debut. Ryan should rebound with a much better stat line with the capability of this game being a shoot-out. It’s a safe bet to start all Falcon weapons this week.

RB - McCoy - With Leonard Weaver on I.R., McCoy virtually has no competition in the back field for carries. After McCoy scored near the goaline last week (carries thought to go to Mike Bell) he’s definitely moved up my rankings. McCoy has a great chance to build on his solid game last week against the Detroit Lions Sunday. If the Eagles dominate this game defensively like I think they will, the Eagles will control time of possession giving McCoy many opportunities to rack up yards and score. Count on him this week as a high-end #2 running back.

RB - Mathews - Mathews had an average debut in week 1 against a passionate Kansas City squad. However, he did show promise on a couple of plays trucking linebackers and showing great bursts of speed. He will rebound big time against a Jacksonville team who has to travel all the way to the west coast (never a good sign) and has a poor defense who let Knowshon Moreno to have a nice game on a bad hammy. Start him as a high-end #2 this week, he will not disappoint again.

WR - D Jackson - The Eagle offense definitely looked better when Vick entered the game last week, but even in his prime he was never a great #1 QB in fantasy. Having said that, he’s got a great matchup Sunday against a poor secondary in Detroit, along with a huge chip on his shoulder. The Eagles will incorporate a lot of receiver screens and short pass routes to get speedsters Jackson and Maclin more involved. Vick has a great chance to not only run for over 50-60 yards, but can have a nice day through the air as well. Vick and both eagle receivers are solid plays.

WR - Nannee - I do not belong to the group of haters that think Nannee is a one-hit wonder. Yes, he did catch a bomb last week in blown coverage that made his stat line look very good, but he’s the best route runner on the team at his position. He’s got a chance to quietly have (NYG) Steve Smith type numbers this year. He’ll be impressive again against another weak pass defense in the Jaguars. If Brandon Lloyd racked up 117 yards against the Jaguars... well I rest my case.

SIT

QB - Cutler - Last week (in a game where he was a top performer in fantasy) Cutler still turned over the ball. That’s not a good sign heading into Dallas for their first home game. The yardage should still be up there, but basing off of what I saw from the Cowboys defense last week, Cutler can easily leave this game with a couple of picks with some fumbles to boot.

QB - Palmer - Carson is about to face a Raven’s defense that looks extremely improved from last year, which is scary. Baltimore should get to Palmer a lot this week, causing him to make some bad decisions early like he did in week 1. Those bad decisions should last the whole game this time as Baltimore will be motivated to not let the Bengals beat them for a third straight time.

RB - Forte - Forte should ease back into reality this week. I don’t hate him this year, but he’s about to face a much better defense this week in Dallas. Dallas’s fantastic run-D bottled up Portis pretty easily last week, and should be successful again this week.

RB - Spiller - This game could get out of control fast. Green Bay should get up early in this game and force Buffalo to pass the ball, causing Spiller to be a terrible play this week, considering he’s splitting carries anyways. Look elsewhere.

WR - Welker - Welker’s about to face a great Jets defense Sunday. They should be more disciplined against the Pats this week and show why they were the best defense of last year. I forsee Revis shadowing Welker a lot to take away most of the short route plays that Brady loves to move the chains with. He should disappoint this week.

WR - D Mason - Facing an already tough secondary, the Ravens may look to get Housh more involved in the offense, who would love to show up his former team. Along with Boldin stealing looks, Masons numbers should be ordinary at best.
